"No one is a failure unless you try"
I got a FEMALE African house snake, because it turns out both of mine are males. She's supposed to be a red too, like the others... it'll develop more as she ages. I was kinda disappointed I didn't find a black one, but those are terribly hard to find, it seems. She's high-strung as all hell, and goes LEAPING off of whatever surface she is on as soon as she realizes she's being touched. She's still too small to be bitey, but that will come, I'm sure. She's mainly meant as a breeding animal when she gets older anyway, not so much a pet; Vakasa is the pet house snake around here.
And I finally caved and got a boa. I want a Haitian dwarf, but although I didn't find one (I will, one day) I fell in love with a little Nicaraguan. They are a pretty small locality at adult size, relatively speaking, so I'll be able to keep it long-term if I like, even if I'm still in a small apartment. I'm taking it to get it sexed tomorrow, assuming a reliable person is there to do it, that way I can name it. It's not bitey AT ALL, which is pretty unusual for a Nic.
