Hey there :good:

Well i ordered a Rena 50 Airpump just before the bank holiday weekend. Ordered this simply because i wanted an airstone running in the 60ltr Planted tank. So because of the mentally loud pumps i already have used (This is why i dont use airstone's anymore)

I thought well after all the review i have seen ill give them a blast.

Took delivery this morning at a sharp 8am wake up  & I have too say this is one awesome pump. Cost £11 only. and this is an amazing pump, Nice and powerful. Very Cheap. Completely SILENT, I know a silent pump WOW. and it looks great for an airpump.

If anybody is thinking of getting an air pump then go for the Rena series. Depends on the size of your tank the pump you want, and the larger ones have flow control's and multiple outputs.

But for an all round easy quite pump this your answer. The only downside is it doesn't come with any airline. But most pumps dont, and i had about 5metres excess anyway so was all good.

If anybody gets one and doesn't like it. Ill eat my own leg.

Just thought id share this :good:

I bought Rena 200 (50gals) and it's okay. I can't say it's completely silent, I definitely hear it. I've got it on a cloth on a shelf, and even me holding it suspended with my hand makes some noise. I was also really annoyed when I realized it could only support one air stone. I bought a T-Valve so that I can have two air stones and it only produced enough air to power one of them. Talk about disappointing.

I'm not really having much luck with Renas though. My XP3 makes noise (even though they're supposed to be completely silent), but then again I bought it used so who knows what could be wrong.

I'm starting to wonder if air pumps are even truly quiet!! I heard good things about the tetra whisper but it was really noisy... oh air pumps.

Im sorry too hear about your troubles. There are some Tetratec ones that are really really really quiet. But never had one, Only seen them on friends tanks and in LFS. But i do have too say my new rena is 100% silent, Unless your right next too it with your ear then you can hear a tiny little hum.

Truly happy with it :)

I wonder if it's because my model is 200. Makes more noise because it's more powerful? I don't mind the noise since the trickling of my tank water hides it... I'm mostly disappointed at it's inability to support two air stones. :(

I dont know too be honest mate, I thought that the 200 did have multiple outputs, That sucks a little bit :( Must just be the higher ones that have multiple outputs.

I have 4 of that manufacturer's air pumps and must say that I have been delighted so far. I do not have any as small as yours but would expect them to be of equal quality to mine.
