As Above,
My new tank has green algee all over the glass just wanted to know how other people get this stuff off.

Whats the best Way?

Try a Google of Piranha Float. They are some awesome glass cleaning magnets but require care to avoid having them damage the glass. The magnets are incredibly strong. If you allow the pieces to come into direct contact with each other, the parts that belong on each side of the glass, it will take several minutes of straining to get them apart again. Yes that is the voice of experience.

tried a magnet, is it best to use a agree sponge and good old elbow grease

i have the same issue.

i have lazy plecs and ALOT of algae on the back wall, gotta somehow reach it....

i use a clean house sponge and it works

I use algea magnets just gotta remeber once in a while to clean them under hot water. If the algea has been on there for a long time and has stained the glass and the magnet isn't working use a razor blade and it scrapes right off. Only do this is your tank is glass if its acrylic it will scratch it.

The razor blade can scratch glass too so you have to stay focused and not let the edges of the blade have a chance to dig in. It -is- sort of the best last resort though, I think.

You could always get something like the thing I bought. It's an 'Algarde algae scraper' and I got it from pets at home. I removed the rubbish rubber scraper bit and replaced it with some cut up credit card.
If you use one of the refined edges of the card (so not the 3 sides you've cut), then their should be very little chance of you scratching the glass. Also as it's just from old cut up cards you can replace the scraper bit for free whenever it's worn out.

8" drywall knife, stay away from the silicone. Using a bit of steel wool on the knife edge takes care of any nicks that might scratch the glass. You don't want any nicks when working with wallboard compound, so it's just general maintenance on the knife.

I recently picked up a couple of these at a club event, they work real good for the silicone areas I avoid with the drywall knife; http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/detailed_image.cfm?pCatId=13942&large=/images/Categoryimages/larger/lg_22528_30424D.jpg
