I have been looking on ebay at bettas and came across this fella...

f291_1.JPG

Here is his description...
"This is for a Deep orange halfmoon line male betta import, he is around 5 months old. this fighter is very dosile and would get along with any tank mate you could think of. unfortunately even though both parents are halfmoon his tail does not reach halfmoon status he is just under. his body is a lighter colour than his fins which are a deep intense orange, and he does make fantastic bubble nests in his spare time. the price tag i have placed on this fish is very cheap in comparisan to his quality, this is due to me needing a quick sale for space for my import shipment. whoever buys this chap i will garantee will have a bargain, he is in top health and condition. would make a great adition to any breeder or comunity tank.

all my fish are sent out double bagged with a heat pack via next day delivery before 1pm. some one has to be home to recieve the fish. if for some unfortunate reason the fish should be DOA i will need photographic proof of the fish in the unopened bag the same day of delivery before 9pm. this may qualify for a refund of the fish minus p&p costs."

I want to save him because he is under size and i think the guy i just trying to off load him because he is a midget HM. I think he is stunning and i rekon i will redevide Shimmer my PKs tank because it has a spray bar across the back so i can cut a hole in the devider.

Oh and hes orange!!!!
Would anyone suggest not buying because he is under size? Would there be any complications for him health wise because he is smaller?

how is he under size?
is ti because he doesnt reach a 180 spread?
then wouldnt he be counted as super delta? and he could possibly reach a full 180 spread with daily flaring sessions?

i would go for it, he looks great

he is extremly cheap to because the guy is trying to get rid of him. he doesnt look under size so to speak and yeah regular excersise may help him out.

i just think hes

im just concerened if he is "under sized" then would there be any complications with his growth. i dont want to bred him. i just think hes stunning.

Er I dont think he is under sized.... the guy is just saying that his fins dont quite make him a HM he is between a Super delta and a Half moon and most people want a halfmoon to be a proper halfmoon. So there cant be any problems with growth or health down to that. If you like him then buy him, just as long as your tank is big enough to divide, if you did divide it how many gals would be on each side?

Dont take any notice of drivel like that! I can think of ...........Dwarf puffers, other male bettas, female bettas etc etc. Thats the scary bit about the advert, thats the "off-loading" statement to get a sale.

I dont know why they just didn't put "Super Delta" from HM lines?? However, if its an import they only have the breeders word on that?

He is a very nice fish, despite the advert :good:

he's a nice fish, a little waffled in the listing though, buy him, he holds a very good genetic. :good:

Ive bought fish before that looked like chewed on deltas and grew into feather tails, get him hes cute.

i bought my fish off the same ladie selling this one, she emailed me just and told me she's been in a car accident and with no transport carnt post him to me untill next week.

So if your thinking of buying him bare that in mind :)

I have two betta tanks the same as nettys. She was my inspiration for dividing to being with ;) So a 28ltr split in have is adequate. If he requires the whole 29ltr room wise i will redivide and put Ramjet my VT back next to Shimmer my PK. I only undivided them because Pinky died and i had filtration issues but ive found my spray bar since them!

Oh thanks for that CraigBaines. I shot her off a question yesterday but im still waiting to hear back.

...thats funny...shes changed the postage listing to UK only since i seen the listing yesterday!! Im going to see if she will send him anyway because she still has the Aus conversation price there.

Im going to give her till the end of today (9pm coz thats when i be home from work) and if she hasnt replied to my questions i will just buy him outright and see what she says. Worst she can say is i wont post iot...then why put the price up?? ...my fiancee' will kill me for buying another one lol!

haha! Well she said bc she has crashed her car, she doesnt have any transport to arrange his delivery. So if you bought him, i imagine she would tell you its gonna be next week somtime, or offer you a refund like she did me.

she seems a nice person though, she was very sorry to say she couldnt sort out the delivery, so i reckon she would sort it out for you..

Im not fussed at how quick she posts it as i need to put my divider back in :p I just asked her if she was still happy to post to Aus and I had worked out how much it would cost.

I want him badly!

Are you in Australia. If so then I'm not sure she would be able to ship to you. I think she would need to have an export licence and it would also depend on whether your authorities would let it into the country.

Also you'd need to take into account the duration of the trip for the Betta. That's an awful long way to go. We wont even ship to Europe.....overnight to the UK is as much as we're prepared to put our fish through.
