 As many of you know I have been trying to figure out what the heck is going on with my red zebra. I noticed yesterday that the outside of his gills looked red and they still are today. Is this a sign of something? WHat do I need to do!?

Whats your substrate m8?

Imflammed gills can be due to either irritation or parasitic attack i beleive..

got any melafix or primafix handy??

Is it just the red zebra ? they do have red looking gills in general heres a pic of mine

My substrate is simply black rock from LFS. Everything was rinsed and nothing has been added is a long time now... It may just be a character trait like the second poster said because I've seen them look like that online! I'll just keep a close eye on him! :good:

Has the eating and poo problem cleared up?

I'm going to be negative here, and maybe this is just me. I hope so:

Most of the time, when my gut keeps saying something is wrong, eventually it turns out something is wrong, and, by the time I finally admit what it is that I was suspicious of in the first place, it is worse.

I have wanted to ask, but held off... Have you added any wild caught

I hope I'm way out in left field here. :/

All I have added are fish from my LFS, I didn't ask whether or not they were wild caught... I can find out though! As far as the eating problem, yes, it has cleared up, he eats like crazy now... and for the poo thing I have not seen white poo or anything so I will keep an eye on that!
