Picture is very unclear, although there is a 90% chance it will be pregnant there is a bit of a problem with its spine imo.

Her belly is very fat but looks more bloated than anything, a more clear picture would be better.

Also the ration should be 1 male to every 2-3 females.

something wrong with her spine :S

I havnt noticed anything wrong with her if i could get her to come to front of the tank i could get a clear shot but she just seems to hide up the back :(

If i can't get a clear pic i'll get my sis to bring along her big paparazzi cam n get some pics of her :)

Is there anything i can do if she is bloated ?

xx

Her spine seems to be bending a bit (thats why there is a pointed look to it)..

Yes you could cook a frozen pea and let it cool, deshell it then smudge it in your fingers and feed it to the fish :)

Just make sure she is pooing, if so then she maybe just heavy pregnant but like i say, a more clear picture will help so i can tell you in more detail.

not to highjack a thread, 5teady is that the cure for a fish that has a bent spine?? i have one that suddenly got this as well not sure what the cause is.

Wilder is the best person to ask about the cause, but i think its due to old age and a certain disease (dont think its contagous though)..

No that was not a cure, that was just to help the fish poo :)

the only three causes i know of a bent spine are
a) fish TB which more often than not proves fatal even with anti-b's and is contagious if the other fish eat the dead fish but the bent spine is usually accompanied by severe weight loss and the fish slowing down/hiding
b) a birth deformity
c) old age

Another thing that can lead to a bent spine is a lack of vitamin C. Try using a veggie clip to put a thin slice of an orange in the tank.Your fish will pick at the flesh and it may help.

Vitamin A deficiencies can also lead to vertebral deformation. Add some spinach leaf to their diet.

Where can i get one of these veggie clips ?

I got cut offs of cucumber from my work (saves buying it eh ! tried to semi bury it in the gravel cause it floats but it came unstuck ended up floating around the tank so i took it out cause they couldn't eat it lol

here she is :D
