Red Robin Gourami

got these about two weeks ago and they were more orange and white now they are turning more orange and black is this normal

also are they there own species or are they just a variation of another type of gourami

The thick-lipped gourami has been deliberately crossbred with the Indian gourami and the dwarf gourami to produce hydrids with new colour patters; these colours include: gold, red and green. The red hybrid is called the "robin gourami".
 
Those look like less colorful versions of my Golden Honey Gouramis. I have 2 males in 2 different tanks for obvious reasons. Here are some pics for comparison:
