hehe but you need to know how to use it, it looks huge, imagine taking that backpacking through the jungle

yeah its not small by any stretch of the imagination, when you compare it to a standard 18-70mm zoom (in the middle)

but when you compare it to (left to right) a 300mm f2.8, 200-400 f4, 70-200 f2.8...shes just a baby

what focal length(s) did you have to hand?
38mm:380mm equivalent. It is a Fuji S5700.

What focal length were you using? Also what settings?

Intially i used shutter priority @ 1/400th sec but on some of the slower moving planes they just turned out too dark, so i switched to Aperture priorty @ f/5 which made them a bit better. I suppose you could just say i struggled finding the sweet spot.

thanks

I wish! I only use two main lenses, a Nikon 17-55mm f2.8 and the Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VR. I got those pics from google, just to put the size of the 70-200mm into perspective.

shutter priority, spot metering, ISO 100, continious AF, exposure compensation +0.3, Shot in RAW

dialed in around 1/500 (gave me around f/8) for the heli's/prop planes to get a nice blur on the propellers, and around 1/800 - 1/1000 (gave me around f/5) for the jets. Most shots were shot at 200mm which on the DSLR equates to 350mm
