Thank you! ^_^ I plan on moving the anacharis to my 33 gallon as its hard water and I'll be putting in his tank some tannins to soften his water.
Does cooking water make it softer?

Cool! I actually forgot about peat moss. So I'd just boil the peat moss and put tannind in the tank?
I'm not sure whether you just add peat moss "au naturelle" as it were - but, yes, those leaves just get added to the tank. I started just by putting a few in, and then adding more as needed.

Apparently if you put quite a lot in it turns the water the coloured, which many fish really like, but I haven't got that many in my tank.

Yeah. I want to put in as much as possible to make his water soft.
