Really cool dolphin behavior at Discovery Cove SeaWorld in FL.

I believe scientists stated a few years back that while humans are the most intelligent organism (due to being able to use technology), the seconds/third most intelligent animals on the planet are either pigs/dolphins (not sure about the order though) ;)
 
True Duz but I don't recall anyone equating them (or indeed the elephant which was shown to be self aware) with Humans - somehow we're always a little more special (it used to be self awareness then it changed to culture etc) :)
 
Animals are seen as being more intelligent than we previously thought. For instance everyone thought fish had 3 second memories but ... they know when their feeding time is and can navigate mazes with no problem. I saw a study which was done where a lion cub was brought up in a human environment and then released back into the wild. 10 years later the people who brought it up approached it in the wild, it recognised them even after 10 years (everyone thought it was going to kill them ;)).
