I have been away from fish for a few years and have a question about the equipment I'm setting up.  Got a new 36 gal Aqueon  bow front tank and as I am getting it out of the box I notice it's designed so the bottom glass will not make contact with the stand. The bottoms of the tanks I use to have would lay flat on the shelf this aquarium is designed and the glass is 1/8 of an inch from making contact.  I just want to make sure this  is the way it sets up or am I missing a base that fit's under to brace the bottom. Like I said it's been a few years. Is it OK to set it up as is?

If there's a rim all around the edges of the tank supporting all the sides then your good to go.

Yep, it's called a 'floating base'. It's a new thing :)

There's a rim all around the tank at top and bottom with a center brace across the bottom from front to back. Was concerned about the weight on the bottom but I'm getting started now.  Thanks very much.

Im just warning you now- dont put alot of filter floss in the filter. Thats why mine broke. Or at least I think it is.
