I just took apart my aquarium I removed all plants the driftwood an gravel an rehomed my fish today an replace the substrate with coral sand an used lots of ocean rock..
I replaced all the water in the tank with treated water.. I haven't cleaned my filter in bought a month was wondering if it would be ok to add fish in few days cause the filter should have all the good bacteria..
This is gonna be my first cichlid tank..

The way it looked this morning

looks, really nice, if i was cichlid i would be happy in that tank, what cichlids are you thinking of keeping

Thinking bout keeping
Yellow labs
Pseudotropheus acei
Pseudotropheus saluosi or demasoni's
Cynotilapia afra
red peacocks

Was more worrying bout will my water be ok by Monday to add fish...

keep feeding it ammonia (fish food, pure ammonia) to keep the bacteria alive and I would just test your levels on sunday to see how you're looking.

Ok well I have a bottle of api quick start ill add some of it each day an bit of fish food would that do....?

I'm assuming the quick start is bacteria in a bottle?

If so, this is done rather tricky without fish..

So, I'll walk you though how you'll have to do it.

Dump the whole bottle.. ALL OF IT.

let it sit about an hour, add fish food. every night add some PRIME* to it to remove excess ammonia, repeat daily.

this is how I did my "miricle in a bottle" and I was set in about 10 days. the directions on these bottles arent very clear. I also seeded my tank with filter media and used some fish

If you already have a cycled filter then you don't need the API Quick Start.  Your filter will be absolutely fine for a few days without fish.  If the tank is empty for longer than that you need to add a tiny amount of ammonia (e.g. Kleenoff) to about 1ppm.  I wouldn't add fish food because it might not have decayed in time before you get fish and would still be releasing ammonia into the tank.

Yeah my filter is cycled it was of for a while today while I redone the tank but the electric was of anyway..
Well I will be getting the fish Monday are Tuesday...
Will a few days be enough time for the ph to buffer fully??
