Sorry if that came across the wrong way, I just like to do my own research but I just wanted a few species that I have not heard of so I could check them out and see what I could fit in sowrightt3 said:I just gave you 2 right there...?bichirs and African knifes are both unusual oddball fish and would be suitable for your 350l
here are some others seen as you don't want any tank size or compatibility related advise:
-red tailed catfish
-Arowana
-arapaima
-sting rays
-bull sharks
Well I fit into the multiple tank category that's for sure, my friends are calling my house an aquariumDrRob said:Ohhh, now that's a huge question. What do you like?
Answer would range from obscure variants of normal fish, to whole myriads of different cichlids, rolling into the more common oddballs that you'll find in the LFS but are really specialist only. One of my LFS's has a lungfish that my other half won't let me buy but it's not everyone's cup of tea.
There are plenty of brackish fish that fall pretty much automatically into the oddball category, as well as cichlids like cubans and some of the more obscure apistos along with several odd african riverine cichlids.
Personally I'd look at unusual set ups, for example fast flow tanks where you can properly keep fish that most people can't hope to keep happy.

Whilst I know what you mean, my reading was that he wanted advice from the point of view of possibly restocking entirely or to do research of his own once he'd got ideas with a longer term view in mind, without buying any new tanks. We've had a lot of members do this over time, some quite famously changed their entire stocking every few months. Others form a long term plan once they have an idea in their head. The final group are the hardened multiple tankers, who end up with even more tanks and eventually whole fish rooms as they fall in love with more and more species.
I just read the first list lol I think would end up single if I tried to fit a tank for any of them, but thanks for getting back with that second list I will be looking into getting a red wolf fish and a elephant nose fish. The south American leaf fish and prehistoric monster fish are something to think about but I will defiantly be looking into purchasing a red wolf fish and a elephant nose fish. The reason I didn't waste time with stocking is because I am going to rearrange my tanks soon because I have fish that need bigger space for growth and breeding reasons.wrightt3 said:That list was meant in a sarcastic way, I was being a bit immature so I apologise for the silly post.
I doubt you have the room to house those fish that were mentioned(you'd probably need to fill your house with water for the arapaima) so here are some more sensible/viable options:
- red wolf fish
- pike livebearers
- hujeta gars
- spiny eels
- elephant nose
- south American leaf fish
- exodons
- prehistoric monster fish
There are loads of different options so its hard to make a list, hence why I gave you a stocking idea first of all instead.
Woo hoo! 400th post lol
