Set up my 180 Litre tank (40 gallon) ready for my Figure Eights, right now it has two Plecs in there to keep it cycled. The Ph is around 6.8 and I need it to be 8.0 for Figure Eights. I heard crushed coral buffers Ph, anyone know where I can get this stuff online? Getting my figure eights in about 2 days so will they be okay in 6.8 ph for now? Also, the shop im getting them from keeps them in freshwater so should I keep them in fresh and slowly raise the salt level?

Crushed coral or coral gravel will raise your ph, you should be able to get it at pretty much any good lfs. I normally pay about £1 a kilo for mine. Although you might be struggling to get the ph up that fast just using crushed coral and the plecs wont be happy about a ph rise of that size so quick.

hold on a second, your cycling your tank will plecos in freshwater, brackish bacteria is different than feshwater. (in case you didnt know)You should very slowly add your salt over a course a maybe 3 weeks to be safe.
