Rabbit Poo!

my parents locked me outside when i was younger, i had to eat rabbit poo to survive for a week. true story.

With all jokes aside, has anyone got any experience along iwth how they think this performs compared to other tanks? I mean this method is completely viable with my two turd factories outside. Perhaps it would be cheaper than buying tropica substrate for each new tank.

As Ian said, if you know what the "turd" factories are eating & it's nothing potentially harmful to aquatic life (chemicals, dyes, etc), then it shouldn't be a problem. At least I don't think it would be.

Rabbit poo should never be squishy!

I used the word 'squishy' because I'd seen it in the post. lol

However from my limited memory from my 'toddler years' (when my parents had rabbits) I seem to recall that there were loads of 'non pellet like' poos (more like a nicely formed human (or dog etc) poo which disappeared without being cleaned up to be replaced by 'pellet like' poo.

Not like I'll ever have rabbits so doesn't really matter :)

I know what I feed my rabbits but I seriously don't know what they get up to when I'm not looking. My biggest called "Sawdust"... well that little (BIG rabbit) ate my dogs dinner one day. I let the rabbits in the house as they were sitting at the back door wanting to come in and when I called my dog to get her dinner the rabbit ran in and waited for me to leave the room... I heard crunching but the dog was at my feet, I turned round and the rabbit had his face stuck right in there eating as fast as possible. If that wasn't enough he decided to wet his lips on the dogs water bowl.

Other than that mostly vegetable matter/grass some plants I actually enjoy having in the garden and a all in one food. I ditched the Tropica substrate in my Betta tank when it leaked so perhaps this may well be a cheap replacement.

Just posted a thread regarding this. Could find a topic on it but was sent a link. I read this in a book yesterday.
It also said about guinea pigs too.
I think I may try it.

Me too as we have 5 factories at the bottom of our garden.

And some of these comments did actually make laugh out loud!!!
