Did you do some cleaning near the tanks? Maybe some sort of chemical got into the tanks, like lysol air deodorizor or something. Brilliant looking fish, sorry for your loss.

You did not have a temp drop in the house for a few days did you?

Im sure you gave them a better home then they would have had if someone else would have got them.

Just think they could have ended up in a jar or something.

i had 20 fish die in 2 days because of some stupid window cleaner

My mom was cleaning my tank with Windex could that have killed them also shes always putting purfume before she leaves could perfume kill bettas?

I don't see why it wouldn't kill them.... I guess it all depends on if the chemicals did enter the tanks or not.
 
It's almost 100% some type of chemical got into the tank. I would bet a lot of money on your mother's glass cleaning being the culprit. When around my tanks I spray the cleaner directly into the rag/paper towell instead of onto the glass, I also use a non toxic orange citrus cleaner which would be much less harmful ot the fish.
