Quietiest Air Pump On The Planet?

The quietest air pump is one mounted in another room with airline running into the room the tank is in. My large air pump that runs a skimmer is mounted in the loft and the airline comes down into the bedroom, as a result I can't heear it at all.

That's the way to do it. A strong pump will make some racket, I know plenty of folks that stick it in a closet or the crawlspace.

The downside is an airpump powerful enough to push the air that distance and still be effective.

Larger tubing, less air resistance. I use 3/4" pvc around the perimeter of my fishroom, one large pump. If you use too small of tubing the air resistance will shorten the pump life.

True, you could get an adapter to fix larger tubing to smaller pump outlets I suppose.
