1. What originally got you into fishkeeping?

For me, I went to my lfs, which also sells food for my bird, and I saw a little 10 gallon tank, and being just 12 at the time, I still had the cuteness factor, and I said to my mom "don't you think that tank would look good in the living room?" Of course she said yes, and we drove home with it. Little did we know, it would become a big time hobby for me!

2. Why do you love fishkeeping?

For me, there are two main reasons, and hundreds of little reasons The first main reason is that it gives me a chance to create something, and it can be whatever I want - I can let my imagination run wild with it. The second reason is that I enjoy challenges and learning and learning. That one is sort of self explanatory.

3. What is your favorite fish that you have kept?
Labidochromis caeruleus all the way! I love my yellow labidos

1) I'd always liked the idea of having a massive community tank. My partner and I discussed getting a big fish tank when we moved and mentioned this to our future housemate, who then teamed up with a friend to buy me a tiny fish tank and some neon tetras for my birthday . . .

2) I think they are very beautiful, interesting animals and I also love the challenges and creativity that fishkeeping offers, compared to many other small pets.

3) Probably bettas, but my kribensis is a lot of fun, as are my newts.

1 . I got started when I was 10 or younger we had a water garden with goldfish. I loved them they had names we played with them by letting my nippel our fingers feeding them crickets and worms. Then when I was 15 I got a 5 gal tank With mollys and my love for fish keeping took off. I also got a betta and well I was hooked on bettas for like 10 years. I could not get enough. I have moved on to other fish.

2 why... It's fun for me. I love to watch them, raise fry see them grow, decorate the tank, I like learning about the differant fish. It keeps me busy and entertained.

3 best fish... Humm American cichlids. My EBJD and keyhole are my fav. But bettas were my fist love.

ok when i was little my dad had an oscar as a pet and a makeshift saltwater aquarium at his dads house in puerto rico, and whenever we visited my dad always joked with me by picking me up and putting me upside down over the oscar tank (who was not nice, and eplains the fact i now dislike oscars) anyway that was gone and my dad decided to get a 20 gallon tank set up at home (with horrendous stocking, i used to wonder why the bala shark we bought only lasted a few hours, now i know why..) eventually we moved and it stayed with us but then it became a hassle? and we got rid of it. then i think 3 years ago i bet my mom that if i could get an A on one of my 8th grade finals i could have a fish bowl, and i got a 1 gallon goldfish (aka, death trap) bowl. that too had horrendous stocking and was eventually dismantled (emptied water lol). then last year i bartered again and got the 20 gallon for freshwater now converted salt. and this christmas the 55.

i like animals and i have kept at one point every type of animal except for small mammals and amphibians, so why not get back into it? plus i kinda like to swim and i like the colours and since im prety sure i have a mild form of ADD it keeps me schedualed sorta.

gotta be my gold barbs, they've been with me since the begining of my REAL expierience with fish keeping (which was around the time i joined this forum... coincidence?) and i would never trade them for anything, even my hadicapped one (but unfortunatley im human and will most likely succumb to a high buyout.)depsite this, i even hope that i will be able to breed them to keep their bloodline alive and maybe pass down to my own kids one day (they ask for a fish tank they are getting 55+ lol)

1. I've always loved animals and having the childhood goldfish bowls started my early love for fish, so when I was about 8 I got a 5.5 gallon tank kit that my granddad bought me, looking back at it the tank was overstocked but I somehow managed to breed neon tetras, until a few weeks later a messed up water change (novice fish keeping) killed all my fish and that was the end of my first fish keeping attempt. Then I went into reptiles and amphibians for along time kept all different types of animals like snakes, frogs, turtles. Until recently my 6 year old corn snake died and I had an empty tank. After looking around my room I saw all my scuba diving photos and thought heck I want fish again. So I convinced my parents to let me keep fish once again

2. I find fish very intriguing in how you can keep multiply species together and watch their interactions. You can also keep more that 1 animal in a tank, and they mostly arnt nocturnal so you always have something to watch. A snake tank in the day is 97% of the time watching like paint dry

3. For some reason I always have loved Neon Tetras, even though my new love is Albino Bristlenose Plecs

1. A friend of mine started a tank about 4 years ago and that got me interested. I decided I would get a 55 gallon then he told me about this forum so I joined then I was hooked. Through the years I have lost interest a few times stopped coming to the forums and got interested in other things. The whole time though I had 4 tanks running and never got rid of anything. I slacked off on water changes though and didn't do them ever week like I should have started doing them every 3 weeks to once a month. Several months ago my Oscar got HITH so I hit the forums looking for a cure. Tested my water and had really high nitrates no big surprise there. Started doing big water changes everyday tell I got the nitrates down to 0 changed his diet and it went away in less then two weeks. Ever since then I have been more into fish then I have ever been before. For several months now I spend almost all my time on this forum or just doing different kinds of research on fish.

2. I love fish keeping for several reasons. One reason is because of this forum I enjoy coming on here and learning new things and being able to help people out any time I can. I like being able to make a world for my fish to live in. I like doing research and learning new things and you do a lot of both in this hobby. There are many other reasons but I'd be here all night talking about them. I'd also like to get into breeding I think that would be something I'd really enjoy.

3. I like all my fish for different reasons but if I had to pick one I would probably say my Oscar.

1. What originally got you into fish keeping?
I was at my dad's church one time and I wont 2 goldfish. He had a old 30g tank in the garage. Now I have another 30g and a 20g flat hexagon.

2. Why do you love fishkeeping?
It gives me something to do. It's interesting. They are pretty. They make me feel like I am doing something good with my medicore existance as a 16 year old.
3. What's your favorite fish?
Probably Pelvicachromis Pulcher, Labidochromis Caeruleous, or Neolamprogus bricahrdi
