How much gravel (in KGs) do you think i will need to give a nice 1.5" covering

pretty much same dimensions as mine m8 and i used around 40 kg 2 get a 2 inch depth but my tank isnt no where near as tall as urs so u mite wanna go deeper but eiether way 50kg would IMO be more than enough

That would be fine, it all depends on how deep you want the gravel bed to be.

30 to 40 Kg would probably give you that 1 1/2 inches. What you might consider is that larger tanks often will look better with deeper gravel. It's a proportion thing . A thin layer of gravel will tend to look like you are trying to make do rather than have it look right.
