Never gave me any problems with my Cories when I've had to use it in the past. Cories as I mentioned, might be considered scaleless but they do have plating, and contrary to popular belief, are okay with salt. Loaches on the other hand I am less familar with but unlike Cories, I've never seen anything countering their sensitivity to salt.
