Question About Betta Fish

Lots of plants is the key!

I have a corner in my 60ltr with a pile of pebbles, my shrimp and khulis hide in there if my female bettas get narky.

If the ghost shrimp have enough places to hide and escape to, bettas shouldn't bother them. Saying that, I'd personally avoid small shrimp such as crystal or cherries, easy meal ticket for a betta. Amanos and ghost shrimp should be fine but remember that they need to go into a tank that has been cycled for a while, well, I wouldn't add them to a brand new cycled tank x

Well said Assaye :good:

IMO, after keeping bettas, I wouldn't suggest a non-filtered tank for a betta to any beginner fish keeper x

Totally agree with both those statements.

Beginners keeping un-filtered tanks is a big no-no. Although it can be done, that chance of it being done successfully is slim.

You could even make a small sponge filter, and buy an air pump. They are extremely simple and work well.
