I have a python, the long $70 one, that I have been using for 9 months and in the last month or so it has decided to grow mold/mildew in the hose. Anybody had this problem before? Any ideas on how to get rid of it safely? I am sure I probably didn't drain it completely once and that is how I got here. Anyway, if I am not able to get rid of the mold, will there be any adverse effects to my tanks? So far I can't tell that anyone is bothered, but I would like another opinion, I really don't want to have to replace it. :(

Thanks

Attach the hose to the tap like you regularly do, and have the other end going to drain, like outside.
Then like you are filling up your tank, run hot water through, this might flush out without using chemicals.
Make sure you drain really well and see if you can store it hanging up to have the excess water drain.
I leave me doing down to the basement overnight (on the stairs going down) to drain.
Just make sure you tell people that there is this hose going down the stairs, I forgot to tell my husband, that was almost a trip to the hospital!
OOPs!
