Putting A Tank Over Heating Vent?

I want a tank that is 1 foot longer then what I have and where I would put if would over the Heater vent. I would make sure the bottom of the tanks stand was open so air would flow. I would keep the tank 4-5" from the wall so air would flow better.

Do you think its a bad Idea to cover heat vent even if you leave area around it open? I think it would do my tanks good in the winter just meats my Aquarium heaters will not work as hard to heat the tank.

One of mine sits almost right on the air vent and I've never bothered with keeping the stand door open or anything. Its just hot or cold air, it won't do much of anything.
