Pump 'spitting' Bubbles

Hi,
i have a juwel vision 180, that came with all of the usual accressories. Every now and again I get a short vibrating sound then the pump spits out a load of bubbles. This happen about once every half hour. Does anyone know what this is. Thanks.

Sounds like there may be some air getting trapped in the filter.

have you tried cleaning out the propeller? and giving the filter a good clean [the sponges in tank water] im not sure where it is situated on the jewel systems mind!

Are you sure there are no aerators or any other thing that can produce air bubbles near the inlet to the filter?

Other than that is sounds sorta like there is a place where the filter is drawing in air? How long have you had it set up? It takes time for these filters to fully prime, which means getting all the air out.

If the filter has been running for at least a week, I would suggest taking it all apart, every piece, clean it, and put it back together ensuring there are no spots where it could potentially draw in air.
