I've got a little 25L (6.5 US gals) in my room which currently has 2 platies and 2 otos. It's about 2 years old, so it practically has negative amm & nitrites, but it's always got about 20ppm nitrates.
I'm considering getting a dwarf puffer (and moving the platies) - how would it cope?
Of course it would be all on its own, the spoilt thing
Also, how hard are they to feed? i've got planty of frozen bloodworms but no snails for them :X

Hello, minimum recommended tank for a single dwarf if 5US gals, so as long as the platies were moved should be ok, the filter sounds mature and is there a heater? As to nitrates, try to keep them below 20 as 20 and above tend to affect puffers (though sometimes this cant be helped depending on tap water). As to the otos the puff may accept them or may tear them apart.

As to feeding they love small meaty foods such as frozen/live bloodworm, blackworm, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp and small snails :) Ensure the tank is well decorated as these guys can get bored and need interactive environment,
