A few of the plants i've been looking at on plantgeek.com says 'Propagation by runners', and i have some dwarf leaf clover which is propagated by runners, but how do i propergate the plants? Do i just cut off the runners and plant them on their own? Or let them find their own way into the substrate?

with my vallis I let it do its' own thing;with my dwarf sword I have in the past seperated the runners and replaced them where I wanted them.

I guess what I'm trying to say is you can do what you like there are no hard and fast rules.

I was really confused and worried about this when i first started and wanted to propegate new plants!

On the whole i have found if you just cut them off and stick them in the substrate your on your way with vertually ALL my plants!

Glosso is a fine example of propagating by runners! The whole basis of the glosso carpet is cutting runners off, replanting them and they in turn will produce more glosso runners! and so the cycle continues!
