Hi guys

Is it normal for the male to chase the pregnant female around? I find she is the only one out of my other 2 pregnant females that gets harassed, he gets really protective and chases other fish away from her.

Yes, and that is why I prefer to keep livebearers in single sex tanks consisting of all males or all females. It stops the males, which are randy little sods, from harassing the females.

He's not being protective. He wants to make sure he gets to the food first

If she’s constantly being chased then she could also be in stress. You may need to remove the male until she gives birth

Yeah I will be removing him this weekend I think. It’s only him that is annoying her all the other males are fine with the girls. Thank you all
