Early this spring we released a bunch of baby preying mantis. Yesterday we found this guy.

He's a adult male Chinese Praying mantis. We've named him Manty, he's very inteligent for a bug. He also loves peoples hair and will fly onto your head :X .

That first picture is outstanding!!! I just passed through Hudson on my way to Black River Falls in June, havent been up there in a while, I miss it. Here is a picture of a mantis found outside my door last summer here in Columbus, GA.

i LOVE these guys, we dont have them in this country - i feel like im missing out. xD

they remind me of stick insects, which i used to have (until the bred in their 1000's and all escaped it was nasty XD)

gotta love 'em i got one eating a frog over here, so i kept him. he's in a 2 gallon aquarium with various plants. =]

Eating a frog.. wow.. scary.

I worked at a lfs for awhile and we got some tiny ones in.. they never ate and died after a week or 2.

today me and my friend found 5 baby new born green iquanas that were in a lovley thorn bush with flowers and a spikey tree in the middle!(perfect hideaway for an iquana) we tried to catch one to keep but with no luck :( if i caught one i would send pics :P anywayz just those pics of that green made me think of him agian :(i feel sad...

wow, makes me want to use my spare 3.5g for a praying mantis!!!

Can you feed them dried shrimp?

Stunning, I've been wanting a mantis for a while but now the temptation is too great :X Darn them, being easy to look after and not needing a huge tank and expensive equiptment.
