Posting Fish?

Ok guys I have done it before but with pretty hardy fish. Need some tips to sending two puffers, luckily I have a giant sturdy polsterene fish box to put them in. I guess triple bagging in case they try to bite through the bagging? Where are heat packs available or is there a "human" alternative that can be used? Also roughly how much does it take to send and does anyone know anything other than royal mail next day guarantee? I know you need to cover up that it is live fish sending (so will need to cover the polysterene box which currently has "live fish" all over it lol). Any tips would be great.

Thanks BigC that is perfect for the packaging. Would you still recommend Royal Mail (with precautions?) as I dont know of any couriers..

hi ive recieved fish through the post bofore and the best way i have had them posted to me was in a coke bottle then in polsterene with heat pack in, and always special delivery with royal mail garnteed next day hope this helps

Most Couriers wont take live fish...
RM Next day delivery, cost about £7 if under a kilo.

APC are the one's that Vicki and Kev use for sending their plecos. Think it's APC. So they must accept live fish.

Not necessarily.

A few months ago I wanted to get some Angels from a breeder. The chap was 'collect only', but said that if I organise it, he would prepare the fish for collection as a one off favour.

Long story short. And 100 phonecalls later. APC do courier live fish, but it is at the discretion of the local collecting office.
The local office in this particular case refused to do it, even though Head Office don't have a policy that prevents this
