Posting Fish

Its about £8 I think, unless RM have put their prices up.

Ill have a gander on their website, so £10 sounds about right.

How long can the fish survive in an oxygen rich bag? I would only think a few hours but obviously people are posting overnight etc

Sorry no replies, how do the fish survive in the bags is there enough oxygen?

Longer than you think :) When importing Siamese fighters from Thailand, they are normally bagged for 3 days+

For packages between 500g and 1 kg its £6.40 for next day by 1pm

1kg to 2kg costs £8.25

Then you have the cost of the box, bags, heat packs, rolls of tape, packaging like polyballs or bubblewrap etc to add in.

We actually make a loss on postage. Unless you order the above items in bulk they work out quite expensive. People that are running a business will buy in bulk as they use these items quickly, where as we dont get through them as quick, but to keep the overall cost to the customer reasonable we have to make sacrifices somewhere.

Wow 3 days plus?

Might look into this then, there arent a lot of people on here who live near me that want them so posting might be the best option.

Betta and labriynth fish fair better in bags than normal fish as they have the ability to gulp the air you trap for them in the top of the bag....make sure you pack last thing and get to post office just before closing,,,,hehe.....
Don't worry mate once i know anything i will tell you, and vice versa

I post fish using 3 day delivery in the summer. The fish all survived the 3 day trip in a regular LFS bag. The trick is to add only a small amount of water (1/4) and 3/4 air. Seal the bag up and ship it out.

Just 1 thing to keep in mind,... If they're gonna be shipped a long way, do not put much water in... only enough to cover them and about half inch more.... Leaves more space in the bag for "air/oxygen"...

You can post to Northern Ireland which comes under UK mail but the rest of Ireland is classed as International.
