One of my neons has isolated itself from the shoal and lost it's red glow. Generally looks poorly.

I wouldn't have known about NTD except for a recent post I read here. This is my first port of call and wondering what I should do. I have no where to isolate him, so removal means only one thing. If this can be avoided I'd rather so.

Thanks.

You can not avoid NTD

You should euthanize him with clove oil

Its the only way

it is uncurable

Not only is NTD uncurable, but its also highly infectious.  If this fish dies and is eaten by the others, they too will be infected.

Sorry, but I think euthanasia may be your only resort - and I never make that recommendation lightly.

As you can see the red glow has almost gone and is quite dull. I have two others now that are looking similar, but not as bad. The others have very bright colour and look much healthier.

Should I euthenise all three?

Managed to get a better shot. You can see two of them here and compare the colouring.

I've euthanised them

Sorry for your loss. Doing that may very well have saved the others though.

I'd do a massive water change...

Fish that have been exposed fair far better in good water conditions so a 90%+ water change could be very beneficial.

Thanks. I've been reading up on NTD best part of the afternoon. It would seem it's very difficult to completely irradicate from your tank once it's settled in, even after infected fish are removed. A big water change is a sound idea that will no doubt help

I'm a little confused how it got in there. I'm not feeding live foods and haven't had any deaths for a while. There's no doubt something was wrong though as one of the tetras didn't put up any fight against the net and seemed dead as it went into the bowl. The other two were more reluctant, but no where near as agile as the other, healthy fish.
