Possible Emergency?

I relaise that there is an emergency section but I'm not entirely sure what I'm dealing with so here goes.

On one side of my apistos cheek there is a curved line. I don't have a pic just yet so please bear with me and this rudimentary description. The curved line looks like

With the lower case c connected to the bottom of the lower case l...

It is only on one side of his cheek/gill and has appeared just recently. My stats are double zero (just checked) with my nitrate at 5ppm. Besides flake I also feed them frozen brine and blood worm.

Any ideas?

Does it look like a cut or like he's been fighting?

Not a cut, he's acting normally. I have a black background on my aquarium and it makes taking clear pics quite difficult with the camera I'm using.

I hap to zoom crop and manipulate the contrast to get it to show up.

I'm watching the views go up but still no responses. I'm really quite worried about this so please help if you can.

If all your stats are fine and the fish is behaving and eating normally then I really wouldn't worry about it. Just keep up with your normal mantainance and keep a close eye on the fish for any changes would be my best advice.
