Pop Eyes?

Was going to post this on fish emergencies but it's dead so not much point. Found one of my (probably new) Odessa barb yesterday am with really big eyes. Still seemed ok so I thought it's just a malnourished fish which I didn't notice when I bought it. By evening time it was dead. Didn't know it died until I saw it floating during water change. Not eaten by his tankmate so I guess it died recently.

Googled it and the closest I've got was pop eyes, but not exactly the same as the pictures. Mine was more like the eyes too big for the body. Anyway will be keeping a close eye (pun not intended) on the others for a few days. I am guessing it was sick before I bought it...
