Poop poop everywhere!

Hi Scuba,

I recently changed my stones for sand in my tank and found the same problem with the fish poop, so I did a water change after about a week because it was getting really bad. But now its fine I didnt upgrade the filter or anything, I think the filter just needs to get used to the sand and then it goes ok!

If I'm getting another filter...is it better to have two identical 10g biowheels running or just one larger one? thanks

My boyfriend works at an LFS and everyone now and again someone asks, 'Can I get the fish that eats the fish poop?'... *sigh*

cameroon armoured shrimp[Atyopsis gabonensis] eat poop
I've seen mine do it they do get up to 6" big though

stupid college dorm rules about no pets

Many college dorms will allow fish, even if they don't allow any other critters. Mine did. Many students kept fish. The RhD (residence hall director) had numerous large-ish tanks in her room Do your college res. hall rules say "no fish" or just "no pets"? If it doesn't say "no fish", it'd be worth asking if fish are allowed.

The one thing I don't like about the miniBiowheels, is there is no way to remove the impeller to insure a good cleaning. (If there is, tell me! lol). I'd recommend the next size up just for the ease of cleaning. Every morning I glare at my husband's biowheel in his 10 gal tank, then I pray it keeps going until we can get our canister filters.

I've also noticed that mine doesn't clog as easily as the smaller one, so that may fix the problem with the sand too.
