My plecs wont stop breeding, i have 2 and have had 3 lots of young recently, have at least 20 of the buggers scuttling around the bottom of the tank, 4-5 about half the size of the adults, smoe half as big again, some just to big for the gouramis to eat.

Anyone wants any for free, drop me a mail, im on the notts derby border.

Not to sure what type of plec thsy are, got them from Wharf awhile ago, they are a dwarf, but not sure which kind.

pitbull pleco, bulldog pleco are both dwarf/smaller species of pleco. there are numerous species that only reach a few inches in length

There is a little difference between small and dwarf. From what I have seen, there are no 'Dwarf Plecos' (maybe except for Otos or 'Dwarf Suckermouth', I'll give ya that). There is small plecos though such as L46, L239, Pitbulls...
So if you say they are Dwarf Plecos, I take it you are talking about Otos

google a pic of ancistrus/bristlenose mate it will probably be them, your right they don;t grow that big

read my comment again, i state dwarf/smaller.

lots of different fish are sold as dwarf or fancy names to sell them. how many times have you gone into different lfs and fish are called something totally different? it happens quite a lot.

a pleco that reaches a few inches in length is pretty dwarf/smaller compared to a common, gibbi or others that get even bigger. the op doesnt know what pleco they have and i assume were told it was a dwarf/smaller species of pleco at the time of purchase. so when i state that pitbull and bulldog plecos are dwarf/smaller species of pleco im not really wrong, am i

otos are indeed a dwarf species and a member of the Loricariidae catfish family, so this could be classed as a dwarf pleco as you say.

so in comparison to the huge tank busters sold at shops at 12-14 inches a small 2 inch bristlenose could easilly be sold as a dwarf fish even if its not actually a dwarf species as such it certainly looks it compared to the common tearing up the plants and substrate in a display tank.....

my guess also is that its an ancistrous/ bristlenose pleco sold as a dwarf pleco

of it happens to be a albino longfin bristlenose (gets 6 inches), then ill take one.

They do indeed look like the bristlenose,was both a dark brown colour with the mottling, but one has gone real light brown now. i remember asking the guy at wharf how big they grew, and he reccomended these as they were "dwarf".

Im in Eastwood if anyone wants a few.
