Plec? White Spot?

Sorry. Me again.

My Plec looks to have a localised area of what can only be described as white fluff. Is this likely to be ICH or a fungal infection.

Unfortunately I cannot get a picture as he just buggered off to the back of the tank.

if it looks fluffy then i'd say its ICH so get some anti bacterial/fungal meds

now it the picture it just looks like what my BN did to blend in with the background, but then theres the fluffyness issue. i'd go a head and treat just to be safe.

nice pleco what sort is it out of interest?

I have no idea - I came home from work one day and he was in the tank! I'd assumed (the worst thing to do ) that he was a common plec.

Thanks for the tip - I spoke to you on the newbie board about cycling with fishies (not my choice). I managed to get hold of a mature filter pad from a friend today so that's now in my filter. The white spot treatment's not going to affect that at all is it?

no it shouldn't, and its defo not a common plec, maybe post the pic in the plec section get an id on it
