Please Let Me Know What You Think Of My Stocking Ideas

Hello all!
I have been doing a lot of forum stalking but as of yet have not posted anything. As you can probably guess I am taking my first foray in to the exciting world of fishkeeping so please take it easy on me....
I have recently purchased a Fluval Roma 125 litre (33 US gal) tank and I'm in the process of following the truly excellent fishless cycling guide (so glad I can cycle my tank without stressing fish). Whilst being impatient waiting for the tank to cycle I have added my gravel substrate, 5 small plants, a blue quartz rock and a stubborn piece of driftwood from my LFS which refuses to sink at the moment (rock is currently on top of it weighing it down).
My tap water PH is 7.6, however I haven't purchased a hardness test yet so not sure what that would read.
I wasn't sure how much information would be needed to consider my choices, so I thought I would give it all....sorry for the long intro!

So my stocking ideas (sounds like Christmas) so far are:
1 angelfish as a centrepiece
1 BN Pleco
6-8 male guppies of various colours
8-10 cardinal or neon tetra (probably cardinal so they don't turn in to food when angel grows)

I had also considered dwarf gourami, zebra danio, harlequins, bronze cory, betta and discus fish but ruled them out for either the wife not liking the look of them or not being the best tank mates for the fish I have above.

I would love to hear your comments on how you think my stocking levels are (I have the Fluval U3 internal filter), how you think they will go together, whether I have a good mix of tank area activity and also if you have any potential suggestions or see any problems I may have. If you could also share any advice on temperature (I think 26 centigrade) and what type of food I should get that would be really appreciated.

i would probably leave the cardinals too as i had an angel eat them before too. the angel wasnt that big but made short work of them.
how about a group of corys like you said? honey gouramis are nice too.

I've never had an angel eat my Cardinals. Your stock list seems fine, however, I would remove the Guppys as they will almost certainly get killed by the Angelfish

Thanks for the replies....so mixed messages on the cardinals and a maybe no on the guppies.
Is it because the angelfish will eat them?
Sounds like all of the problems will revolve around the angelfish, what do you think about trying them all togethr ans then if the angelfish wasn't behaving taking him back to the store?
I would like to have both tetras and the guppies so would lose the angelfish if that was going to be the issue.
Any suggestions as to a replacement? Or has anyone managed to keep all 3 species successfully together?

I have a Platinum Angel in my Juwel Rio 180, i also have 8 neon tetras and have never had a problem, the fish are well fed and the neons are wayyyy too fast for the Angel to even attempt muching on them lol he doesnt even show any interest anyway. I would say its not a problem although have heard stories, but never experienced it.

My angel is only around 4/5" tall though.

That's good to know....will try them all out together then and hope I am one of the lucky ones!

Does anyone have any suggestions to the temperature? Is 25/26 okay?
