After getting a week into my cycle i took the clever iniciative of testing my tap water (didnt have a pH kit till now). pH5.9 Does anyone know what i can do

Will get you some info.
But you won't be able to do large water changes if tank ph is only 5.9

Do a search on raising ph. You can add crushed coral to the filter to raise ph.
Don't buy ph adjusters there more trouble than there worth.

Try letting your water sit out a few hours and test again Sarah. If there happens to be a lot of CO2 in your water, the pH will come up quite a bit after the CO2 gasses off. It may make no difference but will definitely affect how you would go about changing the pH. If it is a gas problem, the solution can be as easy as a minor increase in KH.
