Please Help My Kuhli Loach

Ya for now, mainly my parents are holding me back for now.

I'm setting up a 10 gallon for breeding cories in the spring
and a 2.5 gallon for having a betta and 2 ADF's

Well Im not sure how you could treat it all but it appears getting a mate to take some of your fish for the time being so you can treat them.

The thing about that though is that Columnaris is very easily spreadable (if that is the right word) . So all my fish will probably have some of it within the next day. I will try to borrow one of my friends old .5 gallon tank so that I can keep the shrimp in something for now.

Okay I did some research...what I'm going to do:

1) Do a large water change tommorow
2) Add lots of aeration ( I have a 50 gallon airpump) and lower temp to 75 Degrees Fahrenheit
3) Get Maracyn 1 and Maracyn 2
4) Treat with Maracyn 1 and 2. How much should I add in? Considering I have Kuhli Loaches and Cories (the shrimp will most probably be transfered to another tank for the while)

Anything wrong with my plan?

Or should I use Melafix???

What medicine should I get????

Help is very very very much appreciated.

Edit- Looks like Maracyn (Should I also get Maracyn 2???) is the way to go. I'm still not sure whether it has whitespot or not, i believe it might though. Would Maracyn fix that also???

Holy Crap! Maracyn costs a whole lot, I'm going to have to spend about 30 dollars, just to medicate my whole tank once!!!!

Is there anyway that I could use salt instead??? Even with Cories and Kuhli Loaches.

I have the exact problem with one of mine I don't know what to do. I do have salt in my tank, though. I took him out and put him in a bowl wiht a small part of an anti parasite tablet. Then I put him back in the tank, he kinda curled up and spazzed out for a while, now he dissapeared. ::shrug:: my other loach hides more so I don't know where he is, but last time i saw him i didn't see anything else. I too have shrimp in the tank so I don't want to put anything that would hurt them in there. I have already tried quick cure and anti-fungal stuff. This would be my 2nd kuhli to die, I'm about to give up on them even though they are soo neat.
