Please Help Me With My Stocking Idea

Tetras can be nippy... but also they can co-exist with bettas fine... it's a bit hit and miss. It may be worth a try... but if they did hassle the betta, or if the betta refused to accept them in 'his' territory, then you would have to be ready to split them up.

Maybe even buy the betta his own tank ;) lol.

However:
3 honey gourami
6 pygmy corydoras
6 cherry shrimp or black crystal
8 green neon tetra

Sounds ok although might be a bit high bioload wise. I'd definitely stick to 2 honey gouramis with the theory that it's easier to add fish than remove them. :)

Thanks again for your help! It's probably a good idea to err on the side of caution :)

Ah stocking lists I remember those

I had 2 or 3 different stocklists while I was doing my own long wait till I had a list I was 100% on that was it no deviating that was my list.

Then I found my now regular LFS and how many of the 7 species I orginally wanted do I actually have ?

1

Compiling stocking lists is great fun and certainly passes the time during the cycle but don't rely on you final plan surviving contact with you finding a good LFS lol If it does more power to you but I still go to the LFS even now to pick up a fish(s) and end up coming home with something entirely different

Worst example was coming home with a Siamese Fighting Fish who then decided he found my community tank to stressfull and now lives in his own 60 L hexagonal tank with new filter/lighting/decor etc we must have spent altogether £70-80 on a £5 fish I wasn't meant to buy in the first place lol
