Hi I have just got some small grass plants (dont know what they are really called but they just look like bunches of grass). Should I plant them with the lead and foam which holds them together??? Or is the lead poisonous to the fish.

Remove the lead if you can. You can plant them with or without the foam, but I'd actually try to remove as much of it as possible too. That way you could even give the roots a small trim before planting them.

You should make a topic in the planted forum section with a photo of your plant too. People will be able to ID it for you and find out whether it's aquatic or not. Many shops like to sell mondo grass for some reason.

thanks, i took the lead and foam off, found a snail on one. The plants are from maidenhead aquatics, only a pound each. £1
