that's really not an excuse, i bet im younger than everyone of you who posted on this topic, yet i read about fishless cycling and everything else. I will be setting up my 20 gallon long soon!

Get some books about fish from the library, i bet they will help

Good luck again!

just had a great day aswell becos it was my bday in the week i got loads of money and fort i would get fish and stuff now i wish i had done some research o well life has ups and downs

ok then im sorry, its not your fault then, its down to the shop selling you that many fish in one go and not asking any questions or telling you any information what so ever....totally in it for the money..hope you get everything sorted out!

Being a teenager isn't an excuse, I started keeping fish at 12 yrs and now I'm 14. ;)

But I really do hope your fish and tank recovers... do you have any pic of it?

take a couple of weeks to a month and read everything and anything you can about fishkeeping, then you'll be ready.

Patience.

thanks there looking fine at the moment there not at the top like before ye me and my dad agree that he was in it for the money cos i did spend about £50 if i had know to not put to many fish in at once i wouldnt have so in a way that was my fault for not researching

Of course their are many shops with staff who only see it as a "weekend job" - but on the other hand there are also really good shops and staff - you just need to find such a shop in your area and only go back to this first shop if you know exactly what you want and have done your own research - and not rely on them for information or help.

Why don't you ask people to recommend a good shop in your area. The majority of people on TFF are from the UK, so with certainty some of us can make some really good recommendations of great shops in your area.

Do some more reading - and then a bit more again ;) See this hobby not only as keeping fish alive, but learning how to best keep fish alive, healthy and thriving in a happy, healthy environment :)

If you don't have time for that, you don't have time to keep fish.

my uncle who has a great hobbie in fish keepin recommend a place in the nears city and thats were i bought my tank that looked like a nice place and i have my him and my friends dad to help me and yes i will keep readin and i do have plenty of time sbecause fish are a big thing for me at the moment as in there not needing injectios and they dont smell or make a mess and i find it so relaxin to watch and i think it will be very rewardin if i get them to breed successfully in the future

ive jus done the second water change and there looking a lot better i think we saved them just in time and i manage to revive one of my zodiac loaches so so far ive lost 3 fish  ill make another later but first ill get some sleep :X

No Worries Young man now you gfound out and can research a little more to see what it takes to keep the new fish aroudn a little longer. Thanks for posting your emergency!

That's the spirit. :)

Honestly, it shocking that they didn't warn you about ammonia/nitrite cycle....

I would try to find another shop to buy from in future, these people don't sound like they deserve your business.
