So am I able to keep a yellow lab in a 125 litre tank? its maximum size is 4inches and many dont reach that? And if it does get too big then I can swap it for a baby one again (yes I know you all hate the thought of that idea but I know alot of people around here who do that at swallows. Fish sitting lol

no they get too big and are malawi cichlids, theyre naturally very aggressive and will kill others. dont carry on with this fish sitting, buy some fish that you want to care for long term.

you wouldnt buy a great dane and when it gets to big to handle trade it in for a puppy. same situation

Its not fair on the fish either having to keep getting used to different tanks.
Transporting fish causes alot of stress for the fish.

Too big... they get to a max of 4 inches!? How is that big in comparison to my tank? And its always been completely fine with my other fish, as iv said before, no fin nipping or bullying in my tank!

I have a westie dog and a cat and i would rather die than give them back for smaller versions, sorry but fish are not cats or dogs, thats not a fair comparison. A fish is pretty yes, but its not comparable to a cat or dog.

it is IMO, i wouldnt buy a regal tang for my tank and then trade it in because its too big, i would get too attatched, theyre animals, long term commitments, not decorations/inanimate objects

I treat all animals the same. if they breath they have a right to a decent life.
Once you buy a pet you are responsible for its welfare.

Sorry I hav no clu wat one of them fish is, I can see where your coming from, i did get attached to my yellow lab, a little bit, but not to the extent that i wouldnt give it back. I know they are animals, but for me they are just in my house because they are beautiful and graceful, and nice to look at, not because I think of them as a pet.

then rehome them to someone that has the right attitude

If i want them il have them thanks, I give my fish plenty of room to swim, places to hide away, real plants, 5 different types of flake and pellet food and on occasions brine shrimp, blood worms and glass worms, im not abusing them!

Yes I keep them because they are beautiful and decorative but I do treat them well! I enjoy taking care of them.

i know its hard giving them up..even if you have managed to convince yourself that they dont really have a place in your heart ;)
the barbs and the lab im really not sure will be able to stay together, the plec will be ok for a while yet, but he will place a heck of a load on your filter ( assuming that you have the standard juwel filter that came with the tank)

as were not really sure what the white and blue ones are, cant really advise, pics would be good, or have a look on the fish index see if you can identify them on there

i know its hard, but be firm with the lfs and they will give you a credit, which you can thenuse for fish goods/plants for your tank

d`you know what? sometimes, its nicer to have a heavily planted tank with fewer fish, than to have a lot of fish
heres my newest tank. just barbs in there i think its the most pleasing to date

i know that you said you just wanted something that was nice to look at, pretty fish etc, but honest it wont take a lot of your time to research what will be happy in the tank, juwel rio 125 is a decent size tank, and you really could make it fab, low maintenece and extra lovely to look at,

shelagh xxxx
