Hello hopefully some time over christmas i will getting a new tank around about 60-65 gallons and want to go mbuna. Ive tried researching different types and compatibilities but it is very hard lol. I would like my tank to include some of these fish whether it be 1 or 2, or 5 or 6 of each.
Labidochromis caeruleus
Sciaenochromis ahli
Pseudotropheus zebra
Protomelas Fenestratus
Pseudotropheus greshakei or Labeotropheus trewavasae
Aulonocara stuartgranti

Sorry if this post seems random and unthougth through but its not, im just very confused about different species and compatibilites. So, what are my options trying to combine all these fish ( if possible) in 65g tank(approx)? thanks for any help its greatly appreciated :good:

Labidochromis caeruleus - mbuna, to really get the best of their personalities keep them in groups of 5 or more
Sciaenochromis ahli - hap, grows too large for your tank
Pseudotropheus zebra - I'm guessing you're probably interested in either metriaclima callainos or m.estherae, both are commonly labeled as p.zebra. Both species are mbuna, should be kept 1m/3+f
Protomelas Fenestratus - carnivore, not compatible with the herbiverous mbuna
Pseudotropheus greshakei - mbuna, 1m/3+f
Labeotropheus trewavasae - mbuna, 1m/3+f
Aulonocara stuartgranti - peacock, wouldn't be able to handle the aggression of the mbuna.

So, I'd go with:
5 l.caeruleus
1m/3-4f either m.callainos or m.estherae
1m/3-4f p.greshakei
1m/3-4f l.trewavasae

With tons of filtration, this would be an excellent lively tank. :good:
