Platy Has A Lump, I Fear It Could Be A Tumour

Last night I noticed one of my platties has got a lump inbetween his right eye and dorsal fin. There is no sign of redness or discolouration in fact there is no damage and the scales are as normal. He is swimming normally and eating well. I did a 50% water change on tuesday night and used Aquasafe as per normal. There hasn't been any new additions to the tank, all the fish are established tank mates. I have put in protozin, it was the only med to hand that I thought might do any good. Could it be a tumour?? The lump is definitley white in colour. When looking at him straight on his right eye seems slightly higher than the left. Sorry I have no stats, but after having all these fish now for a few years without mishap, it's upsetting. Is there hope for the little fella and is there another med out there I should be using.

Does the lump look hard or soft like filled with fluid.
Lumps that suddenly appear as usually bacterial.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.

is it possible to load a pic up of the lump onto the site.

Don't add meds till you know what you are treating for. They can do more harm than good.

You are using a parasite med and need a bacterial med.
All you can do is issolate and try a bacterial med.
If its tumour the bacterial med won't do a thing.
