Platy Behaviour

My male platy keeps chasing my female platy around and when she gets away from him she goes mental in the tank and then hides in the corner and doesn't come out untill he chases her again. Why is he doing this? My other female platy is pregnant but he doesn't do it to her.
Please help because i feel really sorry for my female platy.

How many platys do you have and what sex are they?

He may be harassing her to mate if there are not enough other females in the tank

ive got 3 platys 2 females 1 male. Its only been the past couple of days hes been like it with her

im really worried coz she is still acting strange and hiding in the corner of the tank

dont worry about is male platys are always like that

and is she heaverly pregnent coz i find my male chases round females more when there heavely pregnant and that would explain why shes hiding

I could be wide off the mark here as i've never kept platys but reading some of the posts in livebearers that the female (Guppy, Platy, Endler) will shy off and hide before they drop as males haras them as they know that they will be able to mate with them soon.

she due in about 2 weeks i think, but the other female was due on the 30th and she still hasn't given birth. But the male doesn't chase the over due female.
