i was wondering if there is any way around getting a CO2 injector. if you overfiltrate your tank a lot, could you risk overstocking the tank to add fertilizer and CO2 to the tank instead of buying or making an injector yourself?

People are going to ask this anyway so I may as well ask it.. How big is your tank and how much lighting do you have?

the tank is 29g and im not too sure about the lighting.. maybe 30watts?

CO2 isn't necessary for that level of lighting. I successfully kept lowlight plants in a 29g without it. It's only when there's plenty of light 2+ watts/gallon that CO2 levels become a contributing factor in slow growth. Of course, if you want the higher light plants, you need a higher watt light (expensive) and the CO2 system (can be cheap or expensive depending).

Hope that helps.
