Evening all,

We currently have bogwood in our tank to which I have added some java fern and an Anubis: all doing really well. However, one crevice is directly under the lights and has attracted the attention of some unwanted algae. Ideally I'd like to attach another, fairly easy to maintan plant which will grow in direct light. I understand mosses should be ok but wanted to ask if anyone else had any, more interesting suggestions??

Cheers Jay

Oh, interesting question jay, I usually think of the ones you've already mentioned, Java Ferns, Anubias and java moss, but there should be others. Perhaps if you post over in planted, LL or Ianho will comment or Radar or somebody.

I was thinking another anubia as that's what is in the same piece of wood anyways...off to my lfs this afternoon so shall see what I end up with! :)

What about some amazon sword, if im not mistaken, they need fair lighting and maybe some root or leaf fertilisers, but may shade some areas of your tank. My knowledge on plants isn't great, but just a suggestion. :)

Im sure the planted guys and girls can give you loads of info.

Good luck.

I settled for some java moss in the end, think anything larger would have shaded out the other plants, our anubus is doing really well so didn't want to risk it. Think I'm pretty sure the tanks finished for plants at last! :)
