When starting a co2 tank it really is best to add recommended amounts of ferts and not guess or assume.          

 
Yes totally agree, that's why I got the test kit.

What ferts are you using? Just add the recommended dosing ant the only testing you need to do is monitoring your plants health and adjusting as/if requirwd . a test kit can't tell you if your plants are healthy, only your plants can do that

It's not about me fella. Someone else try to help the OP with his algae farm, rather than y'all try to dampen my spirits about water testing.

Lol all good guys under control, I've taken on the advise and all seems to be working fine for now in my new setup
