Plant Suggestions Needed....

Hi,

I've just got some bogwood and slate and I wondered what else I could plant/attach to them apart from Java moss, Java fern and Anubias?

Yes you can do that use some clear fishing line to tie it down with.

narrow ferns? maybe someone can clarify on this? ive seen it grown on wood, so rock would be fine...

bolbitis sp
cryptocoryne sp - yes i have seen this done
moss balls (split up and attach or alternatively grow some cladophora algae)
java fern sp

i might try tieing some crypts to slate, ill tell you how they do.

I've just bought some moss to go on a nice bit of slate I've got so I might see if I get enought to do a couple of small rocks as well. As for the other suggestions I'm going to go and look them up now.

Don't forget to boil the slate a couple of time first

ive bought, it and boiled it, im just making it into appropriate peices, the side parts ( support ) are thicker, sloping ( to the outside ) and then im using a new roofing tile ( slate untreated) for the roof kinda thing, and a sloped peice at the back. glueing with silicone

the nice thing about aquatic plants is they aren't too picky about actually being rooted as long as they are getting their light, their food, and not being chewed up.

Watch your PH more closely when putting in bogwood and when your done boiling your slate... boil it again, you can never be too careful with that step.
